Die 27 Martii 2026.

Septem Dolorum B.M.V.

Duplex Majus.

Amen.
Dómine in unióne illíus divínæ intentiónis, qua ipse in terris laudes Deo persolvísti, has tibi Horas persólvo.

O Lord, open Thou my mouth that I may bless Thy Holy Name. Cleanse my heart from all vain, evil, and wandering thoughts; enlighten my understanding; kindle my affections, that I may pray to, and praise Thee with attention and devotion; and may worthily be heard before the presence of Thy Divine Majesty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, in union with that Divine Intention wherewith Thou didst Thyself praise God, while as Thou wast on earth, I offer these Hours unto Thee.

Ad Vesperas.

Dicuntur secreto.

Pater noster, qui es in cœlis: sanctificétur nomen tuum: advéniat regnum tuum: fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cœlo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidiánum da nobis hódie: et dimítte nobis débita nostra, sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris: et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem: sed líbera nos a malo. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven: hallowed be thy name: thy kingdom come: thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread: and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us: and lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Ave María, grátia plena, Dóminus tecum: benedícta tu in muliéribus, et benedíctus fructus ventris tui Jesus. Sancta María, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatóribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostræ. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Deinde clara voce:

℣. Deus ✠ in adjutórium meum inténde.
℟. Dómine ad adjuvándum me festína.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, et Spirítui sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen. Laus tibi Dómine, Rex ætérnæ glóriæ.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me.
Make haste to help me, O Lord.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Praise to Thee be given Lord, King of eternal glory.

Psalmi.

While the King * sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.

Psalmus 115.

2 Ego dixi in excéssu meo: * Omnis homo mendax.
3 Quid retríbuam Dómino, * pro ómnibus, quæ retríbuit mihi?
4 Cálicem salutáris accípiam: * et nomen Dómini invocábo.
5 Vota mea Dómino reddam coram omni pópulo ejus: * pretiósa in conspéctu Dómini mors sanctórum ejus:
6 O Dómine quia ego servus tuus: * ego servus tuus, et fílius ancíllæ tuæ.
7 Dirupísti víncula mea: † tibi sacrificábo hóstiam laudis, * et nomen Dómini invocábo.
8 Vota mea Dómino reddam in conspéctu omnis pópuli ejus: * in átriis domus Dómini, in médio tui Jerúsalem.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper: * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

I have believed, therefore have I spoken; * but I have been humbled exceedingly.
2 I said in my excess: * Every man is a liar.
3 What shall I render to the Lord, * for all the things he hath rendered unto me?
4 I will take the chalice of salvation; * and I will call upon the name of the Lord.
5 I will pay my vows to the Lord before all his people: * Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
6 O Lord, for I am thy servant: * I am thy servant, and the son of thy handmaid.
7 Thou hast broken my bonds: † I will sacrifice to thee the sacrifice of praise, * and I will call upon the name of the Lord.
8 I will pay my vows to the Lord in the sight of all his people: * In the courts of the house of the Lord, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.

While the King sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.

Diléctus meus * cándidus, et rubicúndus: comæ cápitis ejus sicut púrpura regis vincta canálibus.

His left hand * is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.

Psalmus 119.

2 Dómine líbera ánimam meam a lábiis iníquis, * et a lingua dolósa.
Amen.

In my trouble I cried to the Lord: * and he heard me.
2 O Lord, deliver my soul from wicked lips, * and a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to thee, or what shall be added to thee, * to a deceitful tongue?
4 The sharp arrows of the mighty, * with coals that lay waste.
5 Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged! † I have dwelt with the inhabitants of Cedar: * my soul hath been long a sojourner.
6 With them that hated peace I was peaceable: * when I spoke to them they fought against me without cause.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.

Diléctus meus cándidus, et rubicúndus: comæ cápitis ejus sicut púrpura regis vincta canálibus.

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.

Quo ábiit * diléctus tuus, o pulchérrima mulíerum? quo diléctus tuus declinávit?

I am black * but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem. Therefore the King hath loved me, and brought me into his chamber.

Psalmus 139.

Eripe me Dómine ab hómine malo: * a viro iníquo éripe me.
2 Qui cogitavérunt iniquitátes in corde: * tota die constituébant prǽlia.
3 Acuérunt linguas suas sicut serpéntis: * venénum áspidum sub lábiis eórum.
4 Custódi me Dómine de manu peccatóris: * et ab homínibus iníquis éripe me.
5 Qui cogitavérunt supplantáre gressus meos: * abscondérunt supérbi láqueum mihi:
6 Et funes extendérunt in láqueum: * juxta iter scándalum posuérunt mihi.
7 Dixi Dómino: Deus meus es tu: * exaúdi Dómine vocem deprecatiónis meæ.
8 Dómine, Dómine virtus salútis meæ: * obumbrásti super caput meum in die belli:
9 Ne tradas me Dómine a desidério meo peccatóri: † cogitavérunt contra me, * ne derelínquas me, ne forte exalténtur.
Amen.

Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: * rescue me from the unjust man.
2 Who have devised iniquities in their hearts: * all the day long they designed battles.
3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent: * the venom of asps is under their lips.
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the wicked: * and from unjust men deliver me.
5 Who have proposed to supplant my steps. * The proud have hidden a net for me.
6 And they have stretched out cords for a snare: * they have laid for me a stumblingblock by the wayside.
7 I said to the Lord: Thou art my God: * hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication.
8 O Lord, Lord, the strength of my salvation: * thou hast overshadowed my head in the day of battle.
9 Give me not up, O Lord, from my desire to the wicked: † they have plotted against me; * do not thou forsake me, lest they should triumph.
10 The head of them compassing me about: * the labour of their lips shall overwhelm them.
11 Burning coals shall fall upon them; † thou wilt cast them down into the fire: * in miseries they shall not be able to stand.
12 A man full of tongue shall not be established in the earth: * evil shall catch the unjust man unto destruction.
13 I know that the Lord will do justice to the needy, * and will revenge the poor.
14 But as for the just, they shall give glory to thy name: * and the upright shall dwell with thy countenance.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.

Quo ábiit diléctus tuus, o pulchérrima mulíerum? quo diléctus tuus declinávit?

I am black but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem. Therefore the King hath loved me, and brought me into his chamber.

Fascículus myrrhæ * diléctus meus mihi, inter úbera mea commorábitur.

Lo! The winter is past, * the rain is over and gone. Rise up, my love, and come away.

Psalmus 140.

2 Dirigátur orátio mea sicut incénsum in conspéctu tuo: * elevátio mánuum meárum sacrifícium vespertínum.
10 Custódi me a láqueo, quem statuérunt mihi: * et a scándalis operántium iniquitátem.
11 Cadent in retiáculo ejus peccatóres: * singuláriter sum ego donec tránseam.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper: * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

I have cried to thee, O Lord, hear me: * hearken to my voice, when I cry to thee.
2 Let my prayer be directed as incense in thy sight; * the lifting up of my hands, as evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: * and a door round about my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to evil words; * to make excuses in sins.
5 With men that work iniquity: * and I will not communicate with the choicest of them.
6 The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: * but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head.
7 For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased: * Their judges falling upon the rock have been swallowed up.
8 They shall hear my words, for they have prevailed: * As when the thickness of the earth is broken up upon the ground:
9 Our bones are scattered by the side of hell. † But o to thee, O Lord, Lord, are my eyes: * in thee have I put my trust, take not away my soul.
10 Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, * and from the stumblingblocks of them that work iniquity.
11 The wicked shall fall in his net: * I am alone until I pass.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.

Fascículus myrrhæ diléctus meus mihi, inter úbera mea commorábitur.

Lo! The winter is past, the rain is over and gone. Rise up, my love, and come away.

Fulcíte me flóribus, * stipáte me malis, quia amóre lángueo.

Thou art become beautiful * O Holy Mother of God! and gentle in thy gladness.

Psalmus 141.

Voce mea ad Dóminum clamávi: * voce mea ad Dóminum deprecátus sum:
2 Effúndo in conspéctu ejus oratiónem meam, * et tribulatiónem meam ante ipsum pronúntio.
3 In deficiéndo ex me spíritum meum, * et tu cognovísti sémitas meas.
4 In via hac, qua ambulábam, * abscondérunt láqueum mihi.
9 Líbera me a persequéntibus me: * quia confortáti sunt super me.
10 Educ de custódia ánimam meam ad confiténdum nómini tuo: * me exspéctant justi, donec retríbuas mihi.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper: * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

I cried to the Lord with my voice: * with my voice I made supplication to the Lord.
2 In his sight I pour out my prayer, * and before him I declare my trouble:
3 When my spirit failed me, * then thou knewest my paths.
4 In this way wherein I walked, * they have hidden a snare for me.
5 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, * and there was no one that would know me.
6 Flight hath failed me: * and there is no one that hath regard to my soul.
7 I cried to thee, O Lord: † I said: Thou art my hope, * my portion in the land of the living.
8 Attend to my supplication: * for I am brought very low.
9 Deliver me from my persecutors; * for they are stronger than I.
10 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: * the just wait for me, until thou reward me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.

Fulcíte me flóribus, stipáte me malis, quia amóre lángueo.

Thou art become beautiful O Holy Mother of God! and gentle in thy gladness.

Capitulum, Hymnus & Versiculus.

Capitulum.

℟. Deo grátias.

I was created from the beginning, before the world; † and I shall never fail. * In the holy tabernacle I served before him.
℟. Thanks be to God.

Hymnus.

Stabat Mater dolorósa
Juxta crucem lacrimósa,
Dum pendébat Fílius.

Cujus ánimam geméntem,
Contristátam, et doléntem,
Pertransívit gládius.

O quam tristis et afflícta
Fuit illa benedícta
Mater Unigéniti!

Quæ mœrébat, et dolébat,
Pia Mater dum vidébat
Nati pœnas ínclyti.

Quis est homo qui non fleret,
Matrem Christi si vidéret
In tanto supplício?

Quis non posset contristári,
Christi Matrem contemplári
Doléntem cum Fílio?

Pro peccátis suæ gentis
Vidit Jesum in torméntis,
Et flagéllis súbditum.

Vidit suum dulcem natum,
Moriéndo desolátum,
Dum emísit spíritum.

Eja, Mater, fons amóris,
Me sentíre vim dolóris
Fac, ut tecum lúgeam.

Fac ut árdeat cor meum
In amándo Christum Deum,
Ut sibi compláceam.

Amen.

Versiculus.

℣. Ora pro nobis Virgo dolorosíssima.
℟. Ut digni efficiámur promissiónibus Christi.

℣. Holy Virgin, my praise by thee accepted be.
℟. Give me strength against thine enemies.

Canticum B. Mariæ Virg.

Cum vidísset Jesus * matrem stantem juxta crucem, et discípulum quem diligébat, dicit matri suæ: Múlier, ecce fílius tuus. Deínde dicit discípulo: Ecce mater tua.

All generations shall call me blessed, * for God hath regarded the lowliness of His hand-maiden.

Magnificat.

5 Et misericórdia ejus a progénie in progénies * timéntibus eum.
6 Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo: * dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui.
Amen.

My soul doth magnify * the Lord.
2 And my spirit hath rejoiced * in God my Saviour.
3 Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; * for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
4 Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; * and holy is his name.
5 And his mercy is from generation unto generations, * to them that fear him.
6 He hath shewed might in his arm: * he hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
7 He hath put down the mighty from their seat, * and hath exalted the humble.
8 He hath filled the hungry with good things; * and the rich he hath sent empty away.
9 He hath received Israel his servant, * being mindful of his mercy:
10 As he spoke to our fathers, * to Abraham and to his seed for ever.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: * world without end. Amen.
